welcome to rockland psychology
Julia Denyer is a Registered Psychologist and the founder of Rockland Psychology, a Calgary-based practice dedicated to thoughtful, evidence- based care for adolescents, adults, and families.
With extensive clinical experience, Julia integrates several modalities of evidence based approaches tailored to each client's unique needs. Her goal is to help individuals better understand themselves, develop practical coping strategies, and build a life that aligns with their strengths and values. She also works closely with parents, caregivers, and families, offering consultation and support to those navigating the complexities of supporting a neurodivergent loved one. Committed to neuro-affirming, trauma centered and culturally responsive care, Julia continuously engages in professional development to ensure her practice reflects current research and best standards.
As the owner of Rockland Psychology, Julia has cultivated a space grounded in integrity, inclusivity, and genuine connection—where individuals and the people who support them to feel supported, understood, and empowered to create lasting change. Her work is deeply rooted in supporting neurodivergent individuals and their support systems. She provides comprehensive assessment and therapeutic support for those with diagnosed or suspected neurodiverse profiles, with a focus on creating clarity, validation, and practical strategies that translate into everyday life. Her approach also addresses the complexities that often co-occur—recognizing that therapy is not linear, and that meaningful progress comes from meeting clients where they are and evolving alongside their needs.
She draws from significant clinical training and experience working with vulnerable populations with complex and intensive therapeutic needs. She draws from training in the areas of crisis stabilization, behaviour management, emotional regulation, sensory regulation, CBT, DBT, family and parental support, advocacy and community access, and more. She utilized an eclectic approach to offer services tailored to meet individual needs by utilizing skills across modalities and through the use of creative methods, psycheducation, and talk therapy.
